After a presentation about bats by Denes Dobrosi I started to get interested in bats and applied for a bat research camp. In this way I have attended first time a camp in 1989 in Geszt. From that time I engage in bat research. In 1991 I have taken part in the statutory meeting of the Hungarian Bat Research Society (HBRS) and I am still a member of it. |
Most of the time I do faunistic examinations. During the summer 1995 I visited all the villages in Gyor-Moson-Sopron County (Hungary) looking for house-dwelling bat colonies. This research led to my prized work at the University of West-Hungary Scientific Studentworks Conference (prized by Faculty of Forestry and by Ferto-Hansag National Park). Also this examination was the topic of my thesis to graduate (1995-1998). In 1998 I have taken a degree for scientific bat-ringing and also in that year the Budapest Bat Research Society (BBRS) has been found.
In 2001 Mr. Gabor Csorba requested me for working for Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest. I have done examinations and written the chapter about bats in their upcoming book: The fauna of the Ferto-Hansag National Park. In 2002 I participated the IX. EBRS in Le Havre and had a poster presentation on Bat Fauna Exhamination in North-West Hungary (Fero- Hansag National Park) 1995-2001. I was presenting my paintings and drawings of bats as well. Since then my field activity decreased so I can spend more time with painting and drawing pictures about bats. My future plans are doing researches on forest-living bats and bat determination by detecting. Interesting recordings can be heard on the night sounds hompage. |
